SHORT BIO
Tassos is holding the CEO position for HEDNO (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) since October 2019. In the past, he has held the position of Head of Procurement Balkans for Lafarge Holcim Europe between 2016 and 2018. During the period 2010 and 2016, he has held a series of Executive and Managerial positions for Heracles GCCo (member of Lafarge Group), among others Tassos was General Manager responsible for Logistics, Exports, Distribution Terminals, Procurement and Group IS/IT. Tassos was member of the Executive Committee of the Company. In parallel during the same period, he has held the position of Managing Director of Shipping Subsidiary ANEH. In the past he has worked as Project Manager for Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Development for Public Power Company Renewables, as Consultant for BCG (The Boston Consulting Group). Also, he has held the position of COO at PQH S.A. In parallel he has co-founded startups in medical device industry, out of which, PD Neurotechnology Ltd, has developed a globally innovative solution for Parkinson Disease Patients.
Tassos was born in Athens. He has MBA from INSEAD in France, with scholarship from Bodossaki and Empirikion Foundation, an MSc. in Engineering Management from Technical University of Crete and BA/MA in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). During his studies at NTUA, he has received distinctions and scholarships from State Scholarship Foundation, Technical Chamber of Greece, and other Institutions.

HEDNO was established in 2012 after the spin-off of the Distribution Segment of PPC S.A. Through the Medium and Low Voltage networks, HEDNO delivers electricity to 7.6 million customers, while the Company manages the High Voltage networks in Attica and the Non-Interconnected islands. Considering the number of customers served and the total length of its network lines, 242,526 km-nearly six times the earth’s perimeter- HEDNO is one of the largest Distribution Companies in the EU.
HEDNO employs about 5,820 peοple directly and another 5,000 indirectly. The fundamental mission of HEDNO is to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance and development of the country’s distribution network and the management of the Non-Interconnected islands electricity systems and to provide non-discriminatory access to the Network, for all energy consumers, dispersed generators and electricity suppliers.
The Company’s main services include: network development, network maintenance and operation, consumption metering, fault restoration, connection of all network users, including consumers and distributed RES (Renewable Energy Sources) and CHP (Combined Heat and Power) and the implementation of all necessary measures for mitigating environmental impacts.
